Being a responsible organisation

For several years, we have been developing a strong corporate culture in favor of positive impact in all areas and we also increased awareness among our employees.

We want to promote diversity and inclusion for everyone within our company. We have also taken strong measures to improve gender equality, and we raise awareness among our managers of the need to combat all forms of discrimination and harassment to promote a caring professional environment. We want every individual to be able to express themselves and develop their skills without restrictions due to gender, age, origin, sexual orientation, or disability. Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policy is global and compliant with the regulations in place in the countries where we operate.

As a result, our Equal pay index has a score of 98 out of 100 in 2024.

Supporting the employment of disabled workers

Based on this conviction, since 2017 our actions in support of disability have raised awareness among employees and made it easier for an employee within a team to voice their specific needs.

This awareness is illustrated by long-term support for employees who request it and by a community of ambassadors within our company’s departments to ensure a close relationship and an effective transmission of actions.

We are part of the P-TECH initiative (Pathways to Technology Early College High Schools), a project born out of a partnership between the French Ministry of Education, Orange, IBM and BNP Paribas. The scheme supports high-school students on vocational courses, to help them develop their skills and understand the codes of the business world.

This initiative falls within the scope of BNP Paribas’ #1000Mentors program. By the end of 2023, more than 1000 of the Group’s employees had signed up to mentor young people. As part of this initiative, BNP Paribas Cardif will continue its commitment in 2024.

Each day, we endeavour to fulfil our environmental commitments by reducing our carbon footprint and energy consumption, recycling waste and selecting suppliers according to ESG criteria.

We are part of the BNP Paribas Group’s Green Buildings Program. We have thus set ourselves the goal of reducing the energy consumption of our buildings in France by 40% by the end of 2030, through various means (optimisation of lighting, heating and air-conditioning systems).

We also run a program to educate our employees about the importance of preserving biodiversity, not least through the Climate Fresk, a game created to raise awareness of climate issues, which takes the form of collective intelligence workshops such as Climate Fresk and Biodiversity.

We encourage our employees to get involved in causes that are important for them based on solidarity, environment and health and well-being, a specific area related to our business.

For example, every year in France, employees have the opportunity to participate in a Solidarity Week by dedicating half a day of their working time to solidarity actions for the benefit of partner associations. In 2023, more than 47,000 solidarity hours were provided for the benefit of multiple partner associations of our subsidiaries around the world.

By developing these initiatives, BNP Paribas Cardif helps to drive the BNP Paribas “#1MillionHours2Help” program, so as to foster fair and sustainable growth.

The Obesity Prevention Program

Obesity and overweight will affect half of the world’s population by 2030. As an insurer, BNP Paribas Cardif launched in 2021 an education program to prevent overweight and obesity among its employees, customers and communities.

Over the past 3 years, 650.000 families have been sensitised in 13 countries.

Supporting research on genetic diseases

By signing a sponsorship partnership with the Institut Imagine in France, the European leader in research into genetic diseases, BNP Paribas Cardif actively supports research and thus helps the discovery of breakthroughs for innovative therapeutic approaches.

Based on the sharing of skills and knowledge, this partnership also allows us to better adapt our products and thus make insurance more accessible.

Being a responsible and sustainable insurer is a key ambition for our development because it allows us to meet the growing needs of our customers and partners, to attract and retain employees, and to contribute to providing solutions to the environmental and societal challenges we face.

This ambition is at the heart of our 2025 strategic plan, in line with that of BNP Paribas group and built around 3 pillars: Growth, Technology and Sustainability (GTS).
