Combining financial performance with a positive impact on society
BNP Paribas Cardif makes positive impact investments that address various environmental challenges (such as the energy transition and the protection of ecosystems) and societal challenges (such as the fight against inequality).
Our positive impact investments
As the world leader in creditor insurance, we are committed to dedicating an average of €1 billion each year to positive impact investments.
3 bn€ of positive impact investments allocated in 2024
2 bn€ in average per year since 2019
Empowering our employees to take action
We encourage our employees to get involved in causes that are important to them. For example, every year in France, they can dedicate half a day of their working time to solidarity actions with associations. In 2024, more than 250 employees have signed up.
In France, since 2020, we have been participating in the P-TECH initiative (Pathways to Technology Early College High Schools), a project born from a partnership between the French Ministry of Education, Orange, IBM and BNP Paribas and which aims to support high school students in vocational courses in order to help them develop their skills and understand the codes of business.
In Korea, since 2019, the “Senior Credit Care Academy” has been providing digital financial education aimed at improving the financial literacy of older adults and protecting their rights and interests as consumers of financial products. Starting in 2022, the program was expanded with the addition of credit management training.
For the second consecutive year, BNP Paribas Cardif in Chile, alongside Fundación Misericordia, agreed collectively to start carrying out pro-bono community help activities in vulnerable areas in the country. Last year, leveraging on the teams’ expertise and led by members of Legal and Human Resources, they provided advice to people with business in the area during the “Entrepreneurs Fair”. Thus, they provide support to the people living in vulnerable sectors.
By encouraging these initiatives, BNP Paribas Cardif is part of BNP Paribas’ “#1MillionHours2Help” programme, which gives all employees the opportunity to contribute, during their working hours, to the efforts of associations to promote fair and sustainable growth.
