By reducing policy exclusions, BNP Paribas Cardif is making it easier to access insurance. This commitment is illustrated in Japan, with the example of cancer sufferers.

BNP Paribas Cardif integrates the notion of accessibility into its protection products throughout the world. This desire is notably illustrated in terms of loan insurance.

BNP Paribas Cardif is committed to making insurance more inclusive, notably by facilitating access to loan insurance when taking out a property loan. As proof of this desire to protect vulnerable people, the two loan insurance policies available in France, Cardif Libertés Emprunteur and Atout Emprunteur, now offer coverage and pricing adapted to people suffering from Parkinson’s disease, gestational diabetes, asthma, paraplegia, and psychological problems linked to life events.

For its Atout Emprunteur policy, BNP Paribas Cardif has also relaxed the general conditions for people suffering from obesity.

BNP Paribas Cardif takes into account medical advances and improvements in treatments over the years, in order to offer coverage and pricing that are increasingly adapted to people’s real-world circumstances, so as to help them achieve their projects with complete peace of mind.

In Japan, a person who had already had cancer could not take out a loan insurance policy that included cancer coverage, which would have allowed them to have their loan repaid in the event of a new diagnosis. BNP Paribas Cardif has therefore decided to relax the conditions for taking out this loan insurance, in order to make it accessible to such clients: this is the first time that coverage of this type has been available in Japan. With its partner, Hiroshima Bank, BNP Paribas Cardif is providing a unique product that will protect people who meet certain criteria, whilst covering recurrent cancers. Customers can now purchase a home and plan for their lives post-disease with more peace of mind.

In 2021, over 99% of the loan insurance applications received for the Atout Emprunteur contract, distributed by BNP Paribas branches, were accepted and resulted in insurance offers, 94% of which were at a standard rate. This performance illustrates the importance and the sincerity of BNP Paribas Cardif’s commitment to ever more inclusive insurance.
